Orecchiette with Sausage and Broccoli Rabe is a delicious, healthy pasta that comes together in 30 minutes – you'll love the homemade turkey sausage too!

Step 1 Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling water for 7-9 minutes. Add broccoli rabe in the last 2 minutes of cook time then drain and set aside.

Step 2  Meanwhile, mix fennel seeds, paprika, onion powder, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp pepper with ground turkey in a large bowl.

Step 3  Heat olive oil in the same pot, then add ground turkey mixture, breaking up with a spoon. Cook for 5 minutes until browned. Add garlic and saute for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 4 Add pasta and broccoli rabe back to pot, then add chicken broth, lemon juice, lemon zest, remaining 1/2 tsp salt & 1/2 tsp pepper, parmesan cheese and chili flakes, sauteeing for another 2 minutes.

Step 5 Serve with extra parmesan cheese and chili flakes and enjoy!

Storing and Reheating Keep any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. To reheat just a small amount, heat for 2-3 minutes in the microwave in a microwave-safe dish, making sure to sprinkle water overtop to help the pasta retain moisture and stirring halfway through the reheat time.

Freezing this Recipe If you are meal prepping the dish to serve at a later time, cook the orecchiette to just under al dente. It will cook further in the sauce when you are ready to serve it and won’t go mushy. Blanch the broccoli rabe separately and freeze it on its own or cook it fresh when you are ready to prepare the whole dish. This meal can be frozen for up to 3 months in an airtight container and reheated on the stovetop.
