Tips for making dinner kid-approved!
Make a meal plan together
If you're wanting to please the little ones, try to get them involved and give them a say in the meal planning process. This way you know everyone is going to enjoy what's for dinner and possibly even be interested in helping out. Having a list of family favorites posted on the fridge can help when inspiration is lacking, and this way you can compile a larger list of kid-approved meals over time that the whole family will love!
Prep ingredients ahead of time
Prepping the ingredients at the beginning of each week as soon as you're done your shopping is a meal prep strategy I already advocate for, but doing this also helps when it comes to family-friendly dinners. It allows the kids the chance to help you cook by adding ingredients as you need them, and it also helps to cut down on cook time when you actually do go to cook.
Get the kids involved!
This is a great trick to get kids to try new things and develop a more adventurous palate. If cooking dinner can become a family activity, it'll feel more fun and take up less time. Plus, cooking turns into quality time when done this way! A fun way to get the kids involved is to prep the ingredients and lay them out buffet-style to create different meals such as grilled cheese and make your own pizza night.
