I know so many people out there who are grapefruit haters.
I’ve never been able to understand it: a juicy Florida ruby red grapefruit is my first choice of mixer when it comes to cocktails.
Especially spring and summer cocktails.
I was recently introduced to a Berry-Rosemary combination at a restaurant, and loved the added herb.
It’s such a fresh flavour for spring, so I thought I would combine it with my love of grapefruit to make a Rosemary Grapefruit Fizz. This is such an easy cocktail to make, and it’s made with mostly all-natural ingredients!
No pop or excessive sugar here!
Rosemary brings the perfect, unexpected touch to this drink.
If you don’t have a shaker at home, I highly suggest you run out and grab one.
I have just a small one that makes about one drink at a time (I’m saving up for a big, fancy one!) but it is totally worth having on your bar.
It makes it so much easier to mix and muddle fresh ingredients such as berries, herbs, citrus, and more to bring up flavours you can’t get just by mixing.
I created this Rosemary Grapefruit fizz to be reminiscent of a fresh pink lemonade with natural ingredients.
Pro tip: roll your citrus fruits (like grapefruit) before you cut into it to extract some more of the juices once you go to squeeze it into your shaker.
When I’m at the grocery store, I like to choose citrus fruit that have already softened quite a bit, and are extra ripe and perfect for juicing to make the job a bit easier!
Fresh herbs are the best in cocktails, don’t you think?
