I think snacking is the hardest part of staying on track with my diet. We’ve all been there: we’ve been able to pack ourselves a super nutritious lunch – meal prep bowls and mason jar salads filled with nourishing, wholesome ingredients. But come 3pm? We’ve hit a wall and need a snack (or caffeine…or BOTH!) to carry us through.
For me, staying on track with my diet means prioritizing healthy eating within my busy life. And no, I don’t mean diet as in “dieting” or restricting myself. I’m more referring to my committment to eating real food that’s going to nourish my body and provide me with maximum energy for the day – and this is where snacking is absolutely crucial in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Summer is one of those times of year we sometimes let healthy eating fall by the wayside in favour of summer BBQs and parties with friends and family. It’s certainly a busy time of year, so I’ve rounded up some of my favourite nutritious snack and lunch ideas to keep you going! Don’t overthink it – a healthy meal prep bowl, some fruit and veggies, and some pre-packed, wholesome snacks with real ingredients are a surefire way for you to eat well all day and curb cravings for junk food!
One of my favourite new additions to my lunchbag are Good & Simple Bars.
