Ahh fall…my favourite time of the year is almost here!
And let me tell you – this Fall Tapas Board with lamb lollipops is just a little taste of the crisp, delicious season we have ahead of us. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the harvest, along with some indulgent Mediterranean-inspired flavours.

And along with all that deliciousness, I mentioned that I was going away on a mini cottage vacation with my girlfriends…the weather didn’t really hold out, but it was a sign of the more comforting things to come with the fall season. I mean, I know this might be crazy to say but we had the most perfect rainy day.
We held out the gloomy, rainy Saturday in Canadian cottage country by watching movies and indulging in some delicious snacks. There might have also been a mimosa or two in the afternoon as the three of us lay in bed enjoying some much-needed downtime.
I swear we’re grown-ups.
There’s nothing wrong with a little indulgence, right?
And speaking of indulgence, I really must come back to this Fall Tapas Board with Lamb Lollipops.
It’s kind of like a charcuterie board – with a twist.
I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned how tasty lamb chops are.
I’ve had them a few times at restaurants in Toronto, but for some reason they’ve always seemed really daunting to cook. The reason I love them is because they taste like steak, and they are just little bites of tender meat that seem perfect for a tapas board.
And given my newfound love of Za’atar spice – a mix of toasted sesame seeds, oregano, sumac and cumin – Loblaws’ September Food Alert Contest seemed like the perfect excuse to try cooking lamb lollipops for the first time with a simple and tasty seasoning.
Because that’s what a tapas board really is right? Simplicity mixed with over the top indulgence.
