What a fabulous long weekend we are coming off of, am I right? I hope you got to do as much relaxing as I did. We celebrated Canada Day with a big BBQ at my parents’ house (I tried to do a little red and white outfit), then went to one of my family’s favourite beaches along Georgian Bay the next day. On Sunday I caught up with a friend in Toronto while also catching a glimpse of the Pride parade…did you know that some of the cast of Orange is the New Black had their own float? SO amazing!

Even though I absolutely love the energy and spirit of big events like Pride, I’m not really a big crowds person. They kind of make me claustrophobic, in fact. Living back in Hamilton has really made me realize how busy Toronto is and I’m not sure that I love that aspect of it as much anymore. I still get so excited by everything going on in the city and the sheer variety of things to do though, so I’m still aiming to save up and go back. But is it bad that I’m just enjoying some peace and quiet for now?

OH and did I mention – MY MASTER’S THESIS GOT APPROVED THIS PAST WEEK! So that was nice heading into the long weekend. I’ve included a little throwback picture here of my U of T graduation. I’ll have another one coming up in the fall! 🙂

Any who, if you’re just here for the food, here are some great recipe links and DIYs I’m loving! I know it’s summer, and more people are getting offline and creating less content, but I for one am always excited by new food links. Take a peek and enjoy!

There definitely is no shame if you love the Hammer. I never thought I’d love Toronto but I do, mostly because I have never lived downtown. There are some quiet neighborhoods here, too, which is the best of both worlds. 🙂 Congratulations on your thesis.

Thanks so much Janet!! 🙂 I know, my dream would honestly be to live in midtown Toronto on a quiet side street off Yonge. Still close to the hustle and bustle but still tucked away. All I need now is to win the lottery 😉
