Holyyyyyyy the past couple weeks have been amazing!!! How have you been? How’s summer?!

Lately, I’ve been feeling so excited about life. I can’t even describe it – I’ve just been feeling indescribably happy. Summer has always been a very difficult period for me. Despite the great weather, I’ve often had to put my life on hold to work all these years as a student. First as a lifeguard (at least I was outside right?), then as a construction worker. Last year was my first year in an office and I was commuting for two hours each day – I came home and depressed so tired I couldn’t even summon up the energy to go outside.

But this summer let me tell you. It’s been the BOMB.COM!

I’ve already been to a couple wineries in the Beamsville Bench (Fielding Estate Winery and Organized Crime…perfect “research” for my upcoming client, the Tourism Partnership of Niagara), as well as some crazy nights out on the town in Toronto with some amazing friends. I’ve also gone to Grand Bend beach on Lake Huron, have had plenty of BBQs, relaxed on some beautiful patios, and I’ve even had some amazing culinary experiences…it’s been fantastic! This summer has definitely made up for all the other summers where I’ve had to put my social life on hold, and we’re not even all the way through the season yet!

And of course because no time in my life is ever complete without good food, I have to give a little shout out to a restaurant I visited during Summerlicious this past weekend, Hawthorne, in downtown Toronto. I ate this amazing Mexican-style corn salad, a delectable steak-frites and a beautiful beet cheesecake – it was a truly a foodie experience to die for! If you’re ever in the area, you should definitely check them out!

I also caught up with an old childhood friend on Hamilton’s Locke Street at a restaurant called Bread Bar. That area has such a cool strip of different restaurants and food shops – if you ever want to take a day trip to Steel City this is where I suggest you go first!

Always, here’s my life in photos for the past couple weeks, including a sneak peek of some new recipes coming to the blog, and a look at MY FIRST RECIPE VIDEO!!! YASSSSS it’s happening!!!

Sounds like you’ve been having an awesome summer – I bet it’s such a nice change to be able to enjoy it! 🙂 Bread Bar is my FAVE! Everything I’ve had there has been good, but there’s one pizza that will always stand out in my mind with pesto, bacon, mozzarella, mint, and feta. I keep going back there hoping it’s back on their menu again haha.

Since we live so close to each other we should definitely connect and go one time together!! That pizza sounds incredible! Believe it or not I did NOT have the pizza the first time I went – had the loaded fries and chicken. I know, I’m no fun. LOL
