These Raspberry Hibiscus Slushies are going to quickly become your next go-to summer drink – just imagine one of these poolside and your next staycation won’t seem so bad!

Raspberry Hibiscus Slushies

Ahh, summer slushies. As a kid I actually used to drink them a lot more in the winter while I was at the hockey arena watching my little brother play. Those sweet, tangy Slush Puppies from the concession stand were the only thing getting me through those long little league hockey games.

When I went to buy a slushie at a convenience store as an adult, it was during my lifeguarding years and I was shocked to realize how insanely sweet they were after all these years. It was almost to the point where I couldn’t even enjoy it, my mouth puckered from all the syrupy goop mixed up with the ice.

That’s how it goes when you’re an adult right? You can no longer enjoy the simpler things in life that you did as a kid, and the bittersweet memories seem almost lost with the passage of time. But not when you can put a spin on slushies like I’ve managed to do with these Raspberry Hibiscus Slushies!

Raspberry Hibiscus Slushies

These Raspberry Hibiscus Slushies are a more grown up version of your favourite childhood summer treat, with FAR less sugar. And maybe even some booze. This is a judgment free zone over here, mmkay?

Imagine slurping one of these down outside on a hot, sticky summer day. The sun is shining, you’re (ideally) near water, whether it be the lake at the cottage or a nearby swimming pool, maybe even a beach or a park, and you’ve got a big ice cold glass full of these. Your summer is now complete my friends.

Maybe add a few summer appetizers to go along with these slushie cocktails and you’ve just about the perfect summer afternoon lineup possible. Did I mention that you should find some sort of water to lounge and sip these by? Seriously, even a backyard sprinkler party will do! 😉

That’s definitely the recipe for me! I love that you combined hibiscus, lime and raspberries, but of course, vodka made it even better 🙂
