These 9 Deliciously Healthy Salad Recipes for Summer are some mouthwatering ways to get your complete fill of fruit and veggies during your favourite season!
This post is sponsored by Half Your Plate. Thanks so much for supporting the brands I love – they help keep my blog up and running!
During the warmer months my go-to meals always involve lots and lots of fresh fruits and veggies. It’s certainly the easiest way to eat during the summer, and there are so many options available at local farmer’s markets so I tend to go a bit crazy with my grocery budget!
I’m also lucky to live close to so many farms at the moment and I love being able to pick out so many fresh veggies. We’ve even got a pick-your-own farm in town that I’ve been meaning to hit up for a while, so let’s just say I’m always primed and ready for the summer season in terms of recipe development!
Now my good friends at Half Your Plate recently invited me alongside 3 other bloggers to their Canadian Produce Marketing Association tradeshow in Toronto a few weeks ago, and let’s just say I left feeling more excited than ever before about fresh produce. I had the pleasure of meeting so many growers and suppliers and learning about the demands on them in their industry – AND I got to see the CEO of Freshii talk about the changing trends in fast casual food and how people’s diets are constantly evolving.
Personally as I grow, I have really come to understand the importance of a healthy plant-based diet and how it keeps me going throughout the day. Eating healthy and living a physically active lifestyle is more important to me than ever and is honestly the main way I stay energized. So to the average person, produce may not seem an exciting topic. But to me – I was over the moon eating my way through the tradeshow!!!
And also meeting Chef Michael Smith and Roger Mooking. Yeah, that was NBD.
Coming out of the show, I’ve been more inspired than ever to re-share some of my very favourite delicious summer salad recipes that really showcase the best of Canadian produce and will help you get your fruits and veggies in – these recipes are so tasty and easy, you won’t even have to think about it!
